As part of our preparation of our Neighbourhood Plan, Prestwich Environmental Forum have undertaken a comprehensive review of all the greenspaces within the Neighbourhood Area and the report’s recommendations will form a key part of the policies and projects of the Plan.
This is a fantastic piece of work and our thanks go to PEF for this professional piece of work. The report identifies around a dozen of the most important spaces that we aim to include in our Plan as having ‘Local Green Space’ status, which affords them a very high level of protection, as set out in the National Planning Policy Framework.
PEF have also identified another 20 or so smaller spaces that we will also be including in our Plan as Community Amenity Spaces and we will also be looking to ensure that these are also afforded protection in our Plan. PEF’s report also sets out potential improvements that could be carried out to each space and we will be including policies in our Plan to this effect.
